The Ortles Medium 3 down jacket is the latest version of our warm insulating garment for mountaineering. It combines the warmth of a duvet with minimal volume. Whether used as an insulating mid-layer or as an outer garment, the 90/10 Responsible Down Standard duck down fill of 750 cuin and the hybrid TirolWool® Responsive insulating inserts are strategically placed to provide the optimal amount of heat retention needed for each part of the body. TirolWool® Responsive continues to retain heat even when wet, which is why we use it in the hood, shoulders, and cuffs. The lightweight, abrasion-resistant ripstop nylon outer fabric is ideal for alpine use. It features a practical adjustable hood at the back and a high collar for maximum storm protection. The ergonomic design of the sleeves and shoulders prevents them from lifting during climbing. This jacket packs into its own integrated pack-it pocket and features a two-way front zipper that offers greater adaptability, such as access to a harness and anchoring device when worn under the jacket. Our semi-thick down jacket: lightweight and highly compressible.
