Sílvia Vidal momentarily changes the rope for the keyboard to narrate her experiences during more than thirty years of climbing, especially the ascents she has made alone, with total autonomy and without any means of communication: neither
no radio, no telephone, no GPS, no weather reports.

Her expeditions have taken her all over the world to climb big walls, with several world-first ascents. The exploration of remote territories is the common thread that runs through her adventures and intense experiences. Sílvia visits unspoiled or little-known places about which she has little information; stunning landscapes in the heart of wild nature where she experiences solitude, silence, risk, uncertainty, commitment, fear, limits... and the magic of life.

These pages will take us from Montserrat to the Himalayas, passing through the Dolomites, Yosemite, the Karakoram, the Andes, Patagonia, the Arctic or Alaska, but we will also explore the cold, fear, solidarity, challenge, learning, acceptance,
Adventure. In short, the choice of how to live and coexist with uncertainties and fears.

Searching in the darkness and the light that seeps through the ropes and cracks of everything she passes through, she invites us to explore with her personal and physical spaces, familiar and mysterious.

Silvia Vidal (Barcelona)

She wanted to climb walls, big walls. First close to home, then she wanted to climb those that were farther away and increasingly difficult to access. Then she wanted to go alone, to experience solitude. In her more than thirty years of experience, she has become a leading big-wall climber, explorer, and mountaineer; focused, above all, and renowned for her solo ascents around the world, autonomously and without communication.

In 2021, he received the Piolet d'Or, the highest award in the world of climbing and the first given to a Spanish mountaineer. He has also been awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sporting Merit, among other prizes.
and recognitions.

Although this isn't her hallmark, it's her restless soul, a blend of humility and wisdom, drive and acceptance. A restlessness and courage that encourage her to continue experimenting beyond the known.
